Hi,

I would contact Dr. Rutledge about this since he is the pilot for the MGB.  You MAY get a response here but I would go to the source.  It may just mean an adjustment on your meal plan or it may be something more.  Please, call him until he answers.  That is what his office staff say.  Keep me posted.  I'd like to know myself.

Clueless about weight loss and weight loss surgery of any kind.

Hi guys, I am about a year and a half post MGB’r and have had a few occasions (late at night) when I get the shakes coupled with a fast heart beat and then some minor sweat on my forehead. Immediately afterwards I feel the need to eat and it becomes a binge session. This has not affected my weight as I am still the same after I stabilized 7 months ago. Usually I get the craving for sweets and last night I devoured half a loaf of sweetbread with raisins !! I paid for it later when I topped and I tried to find info on the net about this to no avail. Does anyone know what causes this? Regards, Napoli

Napoli,

I agree that the benefits of exercise extend far beyond our physical health and significantly impact our mental and emotional well being.

Thanks for bringing it up!

Wishing you continued good health,

Hi Barbara, I guess if your used to sports you will always enjoy (health pending) work outs of all sorts. I am not a great sleeper and as such rise up and early (4am) and hit the pavement jogging every morning. I am not lightening McQueen by any sorts by can do the mile in about 8 minutes and generally get 3 miles done in about 25 minutes. I shower, have breakfast, read the news and head out by 6am to work. I repeat the same jog later on in the evening about 8pm and find that its more than adequate to help me relax, get the tension out of my system and burn a few calories in addition! We tend to focus more on the physical benefits of work outs but cannot underestimate the effects it has on our minds too (I still have a bit of mine left!!!).  The early morning jog gives me tons of energy for the day and the evening jog gets me tired enough for sleep a couple of hours later and if I miss one workout I feel like I lost something and certainly stressed more. I'm sure that many of us have been studying additional options to assist us in maintaining our new found weight loss freedom. . .has anyone tried the CHIROHCG system or heard of it, for that fact???  Please advise. . .

I had my mgb on 8/28/11 in Mexico for $8,000. They arranged everything from the San Diego airport -- back to it. I have lost 66 lbs -- and would do it all over again!

Marcy,
I am not familiar with Miso soup.  I am anxious to see your recipe and try it, as I, too am so tired of these protein shakes.  :)

Deb!!!

I came up with a soup recipe that will knock your socks off!!! (Or at least supply your body with a ton of protein!!) I'm sure you've heard of Miso soup... well, in addition to what the recipe calls for, I amped up the protein big time.. I made it yesterday and my family loves it. I'll write down all the ingredients and post it next time I have a moment:):):)
