Ask away! Ask anything you want. My biggest help, in all seriousness, is looking at the Before & After pictures. When I feel like I just can't do it, I look at those pictures and think "I bet they thought the same thing"
Best of luck and KEEP US POSTED!!

So I think I'm going to opt for March. I think I will die (like a kid waiting on Christmas, LOL) if I have to wait until May...LOL
Many folks are ok after a few days. Just a little discomfort at the port sites. I'd give it a week and you should be fine.
Thanks...and it was helpful too! :)
I may be able to get approval from my professors to be out another week. I'll wait until I get the approval before asking though. ((the only class that I am worried about is my Anatomy/Physiology class...that class is already kicking my butt!!)) My schedule is weird...Tuesday (3 hours), Wednesday (1 hour), Friday (that's a 6 hour day...WHEW) and Saturday (3 hours)

I havent friended anyone yet because I didnt want to bombard people who probably get a lot of newbies asking for help lol but once I do figure out what the heck Im doing I will try to build a support group since I dont really have one at home to speak of.
Angela,
I chose MGB because:
I have friends that have had it done and I am happy with their results, and so are they.
It is less invasive
It only has 1 connection point to the intestines, which means a lesser chance of leaks
I have emailed folks that have had the RNY and MGB and Lap-Band. Everyone is happy with their surgery, but the MGB folks seem to have a better recovery time
Do your research, talk to the professionals, ASK questions!
Good luck on whatever you decide to do!

P.S......ShoutJoy is one of my favorite folks on this site. She is a great resource and she is very kind and knowledgable in her responses! You may want to be-friend her if you haven't already. (and no, she didn't pay me to say that...yet) (smile)
Right now, I'm in the process of getting approval from insurance for my surgery. I know the next question that the doctor's office will ask is when I want to have the surgery.
I am currently a housewife (PC for unemployed, LOL) & college student. I would like to have the surgery over Spring Break (2nd weekend in March), but if I'm going to be out of commission for more than a week, I will have to opt for May.
I need your advice/feedback. How long were you out of work/commission?
