I can't add people, I'm sure you Just search MGB there are 2 groups one says weight loss after it, the other is just the letters, both are good.  I was banded first and did great! The sleeve was terrible for me, MGB is different, for one its the malabsorption that my weight loss comes from and not restriction which I usually have very little of.  I can eat anything /everything, sometimes a "normal" size portion sometimes I get stuck on just a few bites.  I do dump and have to watch my food choices when I'm away from home especially ! Everything I eat moves very quickly through me, and boy when it does ! My husband has said he is building me my own bathroom out behind our house ! Lol my bypass is around 9' so a little longer than most because I'm a revision which is what's recommended by Dr. Rutledge.

I did not have a revision, but had the MGB July 16. 2003 so I am a long time out for the MGB.  I have not had problems with GERD.  The only issue I have experienced was the need for an iron infustion about 7 years ago. I am very happy with my MGB and have maintained my weight loss for almost 13 years!

I realize it has been over a year since you have posted this, however I had my MGB July 16, 2003 so I am one of the longer term MGBer.

I had mine done in the U.S. not in Mexico.  I have not had any problems regarding cancer.   I have maintained my weight loss for the past almost 13 years.  No ulcers, no cancer no leaks not bile reflux.  In the time since my surgery I needed iron infustions one time and that was about 7 years ago.  My highest weight was 240 lbs now 130 lbs.  I am a believer in the mgb.

Even if this is way too late it might help someone else.

Yes if done correctly MGB will fix GERD, I'm doing great almost 1 yr out, it's a lot different than the sleeve ! I'm 7 lbs from goal and happy with my decision ! There is a closed FB group called MGB, ask to join and I would be happy to answer questions.  The page has a lot of great information !

I would love an update from any of you that have had the Mini Bypass from sleeve. I had sleeve in 2010. Have severe GERD and had been gaining weight. I love the idea of stopping the weight gain and loosing more but am more interested in whether this procedure fixes the reflux/gerd. Anyone?

I had sleeve in 2013 and need advice on getting revision surgery. I'm looking into gastric bypass. The sleeve never really worked for me. I lost about 40 lbs but gained 10 of it back and still gaining. I'm hungry all the time and it's true hunger. I'm drinking plenty so I know it's not thirst. My husband is talking about getting first time surgery the bypass and I'm thinking I need to do the same.
