Hi,
You need to contact their office and ask. I am not sure what the insurance status is. Their website is http://clos.net and all the contact information will be there.
Good luck!

I want to know if the company accepts Medicare Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance?
I am thirty one years old. I have had a car accident in 2006. I am twice the weight I was since the car accident. I would like to be able to loose the weight so I can be happier and healthier.

Hi,
Wow, you have been through a lot. I'm glad you are getting back to feeling better. We should never take our health for granted!
Ok, well, let' see. There are a few things I can suggest but, of course, it is up to you. First of all, there is another OH message board called Back On Track Together. Just type it into the OH search window and it should come up.
Are you in a support group? This would be a good way to get your thoughts back on track as well. You will hear new postops talking about their food plans, maybe some seasoned postops can give you some ideas that have worked for them.
Next, start on your activity plan even if it is just walking. Curves has an excellent program that is fast, fun and works. No having to be in pain to get results from your workout. If you are on Medicare, you may qualify to join for free.
Last, you may want to get the advice and guidance from a Nutritionist and a counselor that works with eating issues (addictions and disorders).
If you are serious about getting back on track, then you should get the results you want. But you have to take the steps. We can "hold your hand" while you take these steps. Don't get upset if you have a setback. These will eventually happen less and less as you get to your goal.
Hope this helps.

Hello,
I think it is great you are doing research on which method is best for you. However, both are just tools to losing weight. It would be nice if there was a total cure but the surgery doesn't FIX our mind and thoughts and habits. Regardless of which procedure we pick, it will involve a total life style change. Yes, they will help a lot in losing the weight but keeping it off is mostly up to us. WE have to learn to eat right. WE have to find an exercise plan that is fun and keep us active. WE have to find out what our triggers are and get some help identifying them, and replacing them with good habits.
So, while you are deciding on which procedure is best, also get your support system in place. Doctor, family, support group. If you need to, a nutritionist, and a counselor who specializes in eating addictions and disorders.
As for me, I would do the MGB again in a heart beat. It was the best choice I ever made and I am on my 13 year out.

Hi SJ,
I took your advice and spoke to my local witch doctor, he said the best thing is to elevate the back end of the bed by a couple inches and that should address the waking up in the middle of the night problems….also stick some chicken feathers in my ears.... well maybe not....
He also mentioned to snack on vegies such as carrots and fruits such as water melon in the evening as well as good old yogurt.
I got my trusty old hand saw out and to the chagrin of the mrs I built a little wood step below the beds back post. Slept well so will give it a try for a while and see what happens!
Thanks again for the advice,
Regards,
Napoli

Topic: advice please: mgb or not?
hello everyone my name is Clint with a BMI of 41
Im planning on having one of the following 2 surgeries in the next 2 months:
1) mini gastric bypass
2) gastric bypass with fobi pouch (silastic band)
im unsure as to which one to go through with, the main factor i want is excess weight loss and to eliminate weight gain requiring revision surgery. From the studys i can see its very close on paper with gastic bypass having between 50-85 % weight loss while the mini gastric bypass shows 50-80%. some comparison studies show the mini bypass to be superior while others results show gastric bypass to be more superior.
From what i have heard the gastric bypass with fobi pouch is suspose to eliminate weight gain via preventing the stoma from stretching and less chance of staple line breakdown.
Could you please shed some light on which of the two surgeries you would sugest is the better option by way of excess weight loss and minimal weight gain, thankyou.

Hi,
Tums may not be strong enough. It is a good source of calcium though. Do some research on the veggies and fruits you eat. Some can cause gas. Acid reflux erodes the soft tissues in the throat so you want to try to keep that under control.
