Are you talking about Dr. Ortiz with ALM?  If so, how is your progress?  I just scheduled a date with him in July to revise from a sleeve to an MGB.  I have had a hard time finding a lot of information on the mgb.  Can you please tell me about your experience?

Thanks,

Amanda

I had Dr. Rutledge and Dr. Dasher.  Dr. Rutledge was training Dr. Dasher on the MBG in Highpoint N.C. in 2003.  Dr Rutledge is now in India training others to do the MGB  and Dr. Dasher is no longer with the group that did my surgery.  Dr.Peraglie in Davenport Fl and Dr. Hargroder in MO. both currently do the MGB bypass.  I am taking my granddaughter to have the surgery in March with Dr. Peraglie.

Hi, kim

I am planning to go to a revisión from vsg to mgb, due to the fact, that after a year, I started to regain weight and started to have health complications.

I did not suffer any reflux with my vsg, but i am concern about reflux with mgb, even though, a dr told me, that chances of reflux with mgb are low.

I wish you the best, keep track of what you eat with vsg.

tks and regards

Pedrof

Hi Pedro,

I had the opposite revision.  I started with a MGB and revised to a gastric sleeve.  When I had the MGB I had dumping, reflux, and became lactose intolerant.  Once I revised to gastric sleeve, I don't have any dumping anymore, and my lactose intolerance improved. I still cannot drink milk or eat ice cream, but I can eat cheese and yogurt.  I still suffer from reflux, and take Prilosec twice a day.

I had my revision from MGB to gastric sleeve because I lost too much weight.  Too much of my intestine was bypassed.  When I had the sleeve revision, they re-hooked up ALL of my bypassed intestine and made my stomach even smaller.  I have full absorption now, and I have normal bowel habits.  I am much happier with the sleeve, even though it took me a round-about way to get to it.
