Hey, firstly congrats on your weight loss. However I feel really sorry for your problems. So, if he's the best surgeon he should have diagnosed the problem by now shouldn't he? Anyways why don't you just consult another doctor. Muffazal Lakdawala is the best obesity surgeon in India. He has a great clinic too and takes personal interest in all of his patients. They have a special facilities for foreign patients too.
I live about thirty miles north of Pittsburgh. :D Pittsburgh or Greensburg are the closest places for me to go to support groups and each are at least an hour away. :( so I'm kinda stuck with online support. Not that its a bad thing cuz sometimes its easier to be open about the embarrassing things with surgery and concerns then it would be in a room full of strangers.
Where in PA do you live? I know that is a huge state.

I actually ended up changing surgery type to the DS, and had it done on 12/12. I've lost 30 pounds so far, and couldn't be happier!

There are a few differences that I can think of right off the top of my head;
- There is only one anastomosis in MGB vs. RNY.
- The new stomach that is created during MGB is more like a 4 oz to 6 oz sleeve rather than a 2 oz pouch as in RNY.
- The new stomach in MGB is created along the lesser curvature of the stomach which is less elastic tissue and less likely to stretch over time. The RNY pouch is created along the greater curvature.
Here is a good research article that describes outcomes of both MGB and RNY: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1357700/ . The researchers conclude that "both LRYGBP (RNY) and LMGBP (MGB) are effective for morbid obesity with similar results for resolution of metabolic syndrome and improvement of quality of life. LMGBP(MGB) is a simpler and safer procedure that has no disadvantage compared with LRYGBP at 2 years of follow-up.
Happy researching :)
