Topic: RE: I am a Statistic!
Hi Bridget,
I read your post and had chills. I had my MGB Jan. 2003 by the same doctor at the same hospital. I am looking at getting a revision at Mayo because of ulcers. Anyway, I am also a statistic. I would love to have more information. I go to the surgeon at Mayo on Feb. 22. Please let me know how your doing!
Thanks,
Pam

Topic: RE: Never Heard of this procedure- details please
Hi,
I am almost six years out. It is a great tool with good success within the first couple years. But like all other procedures, it is a tool to lose weight. I chose this because it requires a very short hospital stay, quick recovery and if necessary, can be revised or reversed. The links you where given is a great place to check it out.

Hi Kimberly
I had my MGB on August 18, 2005 and as of today I'm down 82 pounds and feeling great. I'm going to give you a few links that you can read more about the MGB. If you have any other questions please contact me at [email protected]... hugs Kim

There has been a lot of controversy about this surgery and the risk of bile reflux... since it is similar to the old loop bypass. However, since we have a long vertical pouch this provides a kind of distance barrier for bile... and it has not been a problems for MGBers andy more than RNYers.

I have never heard of this procedure please give me lots of details and info? How is it done? Where? How can it be reversed?etc.

Hi Kim...Thanks for the information. I'm not to keen on the idea of them not accepting insurance coverage though. If I go this route I will have some saving up to do. Again thanks for the info.

Topic: RE: I checked out the website but
Hi Wendy... the CLOS website maybe jam packed with information, but it can be so hard to find information.
The sites and surgeons used to be in the top right corner of the CLOS main page and they're no longer there... I'm going to bring it to their attention that it's not easy to find.
There is still a lot of good information to read at the clos site though... if you have any specific questions, please just ask... I became pretty well read doing my own research prior to surgery. hugs Kim

Hi Susan it looks like they are using the Statesville NC main office for the CLOS Texas contact... The surgeon is Dr. Peraglie and he is loved by every one of his patients... The clos web site used to list the CLOS sites on the top right corner and it's no longer there... contact Dr. Peraglie directly for the texas information... hugs Kim

Hi Kim..I can't find a CLOS site for Texas. Can you give me some help in finding it? I went to the CLOS web page but couldn't find anything about locations.
Thanks...Susan

I cannot see where other doctors are listed that perform this surgery in other parts of the country. It seems like a site specifically for Dr Rutledge? I am just trying to learn more about it before I commit to RNY.
Thanks!
