well, i did the mgb and by the way they are coming to toronto in may, and this is the email i got in case you want to talk to them DR. RUTLEDGE COMING TO TORONTO IN MAY FOR INFORMATIONAL SESSION/SUPPORT GROUP MEETING
Dr. Rutledge and CLOS staff would like to invite all preops, postops, and anyone interested in attending an Informational Session/Support Group to join us in Toronto. Once again, we will be coming to Toronto to both continue to support our postops and meet our preops. Please join us and bring your friends, family, and anyone interested in learning about our program and the Mini-Gastric Bypass. This is an excellent time to stay connected with Dr. Rutledge, CLOS staff, others that have had the MGB, as well as an awesome opportunity for anyone interested in having the MGB to have all their questions answered. This meeting will be a refresher for some and the first opportunity to learn about the procedure for the first time while also exchange information and experiences of other postops that have been through the process and surgery. Please remember this is for everyone and not just MGB Toronto postops. The more the merrier. We hope you will take advantage of this time with Dr. Rutledge and CLOS staff for the afternoon. I have heard that if you don't eat often enough throughout the day your body goes into starvation mode and will hold onto every tiny calorie
Topic: RE: PROCEDURE TO GET THE BYPASS GASTRIC SURGERY
Go to MGBHELP.COM to find information on OHIP. A Canadian MGB'er has developed the site with information on this. Good luck.

Topic: RE: To those researching WLS...
I have a question for you. I am trying to decide if I should get the band or if I should do the bypass. Since you have had one and want the other now, Can I ask you why you have decided to change to bypass?
Thanks
Topic: RE: What happened to Dr. O'Brien???
Dr. O'Brien was trained by Dr. Rutledge to do MGB. I had MGB by Dr. O'Brien in 2003 and have not had any complications. I have occasional bile reflux but it is really no big deal.
Topic: RE: Any Family Doctors in Raleigh Area that Support MGB Surgery?
Hi, My primary care physician actually recommended that I get the mini-bypass. I am in the process of working through the paperwork and pre-op visits at this point, but my doctor seems to be very supportive. Are we allowed to give Dr.'s names and numbers on this forum? If so, I would pass that info. along. He does practice in Raleigh, NC.

Dr. Peraglie is the sweetest, kindest and most geniune person you will ever meet. Once you do get to talk with him, you forget he is a doctor. He is very attentive while you are under his care and always answers his emails and/or phone (unless he is in surgery). The office staff is very helpful and well above and beyond to assist. The hospital staff is friendly and informed. The hospital is small by big-city standards but well-staffed and clean. You can email me directly at [email protected] if you would like more detailed information. I'm very happy with my results - 111 lbs down in 10+ months - with no regrets.
