The MGB is not really the same as the RNY...

Hi. I am kinda new here and searching for answers myself.... but.... a friend of mine had an open rny a few years ago. she now has cute twins! told her she got greedy and got preg for both of us.... but she didnt not seem to have too many problems. although she is has low iron alot. am not sure if is from surg or preg.

Dr. Rutledge is such a caring doctor that, after he had done my friend's surgery and she lost way too much weight and was in desperate need of revision surgery, he wouldn't even forward her medical records to the next surgeon! I would advise you all to steer clear of this man. I'll bet dollars to donuts those called upon in the audience had been planted there. He has been sued many times. Don't let it be you who needs to sue him next.

Charleston Mom, you have no idea how much I would love to hug you right now. Its so hard trying to put an opinion, or fact out htere without being shooting you down. Honestly if you were standing right beside me you would be getting a HUGE hug and tons of appreciation. thank you so much for putting in your two cents

I think you'll find most reputable bariatric surgeons, especially in NC, not recommending this surgery. Dr. Rutledge was well-known here. I won't say more than that other than to pull his public file and do a little research on him.
