Nope this is the only name I know o*****o http://clos.net. They have a pre- and a post-op email list. Unfortunately no. Insurance doesn't cover it. They do offer some special incentives sometimes so read the website. I am almost 9 years out and I would do it again!!!!! Oh you can attend a clinic/support group the surgeon gives at 12 pm and 9 pm Eastern time (adjust this to your time zone) live at the following link. I am shoutjoy, if you pop in, say hi!

Well, there are several kinds of gastric bypass. With the MGB, barring any complications, you can be back at work in a about two weeks if the job is without alot of physical strain. It just depends on how you feel. I know some that went back to work in a week.
No! I don't regret it at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just found out that Giant sells it. We don't have a Giant store up here so I can't confirm it.
Don't get hung up on the word mini. I guess he should have named it.....simple. That's about what it is compared to others. A small pouch is made from the stomach and 6 or more feet of small intestines is bypassed, then the pouch is joined at that point. http://clos.net has an actual video of the surgery if interested.
As I'm nursing my cold, I had the TV on today and Kelly Rippa announced that she has teamed up with Electrolux to help raise funds for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. Each time you send a 'virtual' cupcake to someone, Electrolux will donate $1.00 to OCRF and enter you in a drawing to win an Electrolux's new washer/dryer set.
If you are interested in support OCRF, click this link to send a virtual cupcake: http://www.kelly-confidential.com/make_a_cupcake/
Why don't you make a cupcake and send it to a friend? The can enjoy it without worrying about having it settle on their hips! Each one you send will raise $1.00 for OCRF.
What could be sweeter?

Well, let's see... You are given a much small pouch from the actual stomach. The rest of the stomach remains where it is. About six feet of the small intestines are bypassed to limit how much or how many calories you actually absorb. That is the layman's description. This surgery is usually done laproscopically and takes about a half hour to 45 minutes barring any complications. This surgery is also reversible and revisable. Recovery time is about a week to two weeks. I think that's it.
