Hi,

I don't know of many folks losing too much weight with the RNY.  A lot folks struggle maintaining their weight.  I have to say though, with the strict dietary needs you have, you may have better success than some because you have to eat healthy.  The first two years is your best opportunity to lose the most weight.  This is a common statistic across the board for all weight loss surgeries.

It is interesting how our bodies decide when it is time to stop.  It does and not always when we feel it should.  We set goals for ourselves but our bodies pretty much ignores us lol.  I can't predict how your body will react.  This is not an exact science.  So, you will have to watch and see how it goes.

The MGB is done laproscopically.  Maybe ask folks on the main message board.  More folks would be available to answer your question.

Hello,
I know you asked for super morbidly obese and I do not fit that discription as of yet. I believe if I do not receive some kind of help soon I will be in that category within less than three years. I am 350lbs and only 37 with medical conditions and disabled. I live in west texas and am having issues finding a medicare accepting hospital and doctor. I have recently found help with transportation to a doctor who can help me but do not or can not find help. I am willing to allow video taping of the whole process and of my life along with follow-up and give unlimited access to my life just to get help. Can you help me?

Great post Barb!!  Some things I do for myself:

- Training for a 5K (meet once a week and run two times   on my own)

- Zumba (once or twice a week), it's an aerobics/dance class and is an hour long and so much fun!!

- Swim class on Saturday mornings (an hour long)

- Try to do weights once a week at least....don't always make it!!

- I too order grilled instead of friend and get my protein in first before indulging in carbs.

- Run with my son (never thought that'd happen).  He's 12 and on our first run, near the end, he put his hand on my back like he was pushing me to go faster and like he was saying, you can do it.  It was just precious!!

- Enjoy taking the family to the park and walking it...one Sunday we all covered 4 miles!!  Kids were on their bikes and DH and I were walking.  Great fun!!

- One of the things I love to do FOR myself now is to buy clothes I LIKE, not clothes THAT FIT!!!!!!

I'm lovin' my RNY!!!!!!

Have a great night.
