The Drs in North carolina are Drs Walsh and Dasher. They were affiliated with CLOS, but separated in May 2006. They have done over 500 MGB's each and specialize in people over 400 pounds. They are part of High Point Regional Hospital, in High Point, NC. The website is www.regionalbariatrics.com. They have seminars on Monday and Wednesdays and support groups on the 3rd Monday of each month. I had my surgery on March 21, 2006 and have lost 46 pounds and feel great, no complications. It has been a great experience.

Actually, Dr Walsh and Dr Dasher have NOT each done 500 cases. Total (including the ones Dr Rutledge did while training them) they did 500. They do take higher weight patients but they also charge an additional 5000.00 to 10000.00 above the 17000.00 to do their surgery if they weigh more. Dr Rutledge, and Dr Pereglia in Texas do not charge more and they have done thousands of these surgeries. Dr Rutledge and his CLOS does not associate with them any more.

They charge an additional $3k for larger patients, I was told that this was just implemented.

Hi. I contacted Dr Walsh and Dasher's office.  I was told they did about 500 combined.  This worried me when I heard Dr. Rutledge did thousands. Your experience was good?  Which Dr. did your procedure? One of the drs is (was) a trauma specialist and the other is (waS) a cancer specialist. Cant decide where to have it done    I live in Maryland and could drive to NC Rochelle

Rochelle, I had my surgery done in North Carolina by Dr. Dasher in March of 2005, so I am closing in on my two year anniversary!  Things could not be better!  I was 295 and down to 155!  CRAZY!  I feel incredible and have not had ONE problem!  I used to get frequent headaches and full blown migraines about 4 times a year, frequent colds and diarehha all the time!  Not one headache, no stomach flu (even when my kids have it), no migraines and normal "D"!  I am not joking!  It is absolutely crazy!  I feel 10 feet tall and bullet proof!   Keep in mind that Dr. Dasher and Dr. Walsh are the first doctors that Dr. Rutledge trained!  I felt very comfortable with my decision and the hospital was wonderful!  No regrets!  And that is my life motto!  Check out my blog at www.highpointregional.com, go to patients and visitors and then I am listed as Joan.  The pictures posted are over a year old and so is the post.  When they broke off from CLOS, I assumed that I wasn't going to do the blog anymore but to my suprise it is still there!  I am going to update.  I just joined obesityhelp.com today but this is how I discovered MGB over two years ago.  I had researched all the surgeries in detail and was way to scared to do any of them and then accidentially came across MGB while browsing Obesityhelp.  I plan on posting pictures etc. soon on this site! Good luck with your search!  Let me know if I can be of further assistance!

Hi: There are three centers associated with the Centers for Laparoscopic Obesity Surgery: Las Vegas, Houston and Bay City, MI. Dr. Rutledge is the surgeon in Las Vegas, Dr. Peraglie in Houston and Dr. Doroghazi in Bay City. I am a patient of Dr. Rutledge. I work for CLOS and in particular, Dr. Peraglie.

Hi Leslie,

Just incase you maybe interested CODS is a great center for bariatric surgery. It is one of Asia's best and has the best and most experienced surgeon. They have a special separate unit for foreign patients. Also, surgery in India will cost you much much less than it would in the US.
