Insurance coverage

Has anyone had trouble getting their insurance to pay?  Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC says the MGB is experimental and won't cover.  Has anyone fought their insurance and then they covered the MGB.  I'm not sure how far I should take this to try to get my insurance to cover.  They will cover the RNY, but I really prefer the mini.  Thanks,
