Is is possible to get the mini gastric bypass surgery and the insurance covered it?

Yes, many insurances will cover the mini gastric bypass.  I know a girl who only had to pay $700.  Her insurance covered the rest.

It all depends on your insurance.  Mine personally will not cover the mini. Unfortunately, that is the bypass I want to have.  Mine will only cover the RNY and sleeve gastrectomy.  I have Blue Cross of North Carolina but many Blue Cross agencies of other states will cover a "mini".  Insurance is a strange thing.  If they won't cover, you can appeal.  There are also cases where insurances will cover the bypass after appealing.....you might have to appeal a number of times.  Good luck.  The mini is known to be the safest, and least expensive.  Go figure why insurances would cover the others that have greater risks and cost more.    Patty
