Ok I am just getting started and would like as much information as anyone is willing to give. I live in Southern Indiana and have lots of trouble wondering what doctor to pick. Is there a easier way of doing this?

Hi,

Well first of all, do your research into all the different types of surgery.  Check the statistics regarding pounds lost and regain numbers.  Talk to as many post op people as you can on these boards and ask them to be honest about their experiences.  Some will be good and some not so good but  you need to see both sides of the coin.  Talk to them about their surgeon too.  Start with the Indiana board.  If you plan to have your surgery locally. Then after you have done all the research, pick a procedure you feel you can live with and accept whatever outcome.

The forum you are in now is for the MGB.  The website to start your research is http://clos.net.  They have a mailing list where you can talk to folks who have had this procedure.

I wish you luck on your journey to good health.

Clueless about weight loss and weight loss surgery of any kind.
