Yes there are some that have had this surgery and we would have it again in a heartbeat!

 This surgery was not available when I had my "Memphis extended Gastric By-pass, 16+ yrs ago.          These  new options  minimize some of the complications I had...enzyme depletion and most are available with laproscope... instead of major central  incision from  sternum to pubic. If I needed it today I would certainly  do a surgical procedure, the one I had saved my life, and all my problems are now overcome with across the counter , and herbal  suppliments..
     ..Surgery is not an easy  option...It does give you control.but you have to decide before you start that you will follow your surgon's advise for the rest of your life.
   Get the vitamin lists he recommends in writing, and the diet guidelines in writing...that way you have it...Not big gobs of paper that get misplaced over time, but .. a simple list of suppliments with a carb limit, a protein  ideal and  water / fluid guide minimums. Make a couple of copies, have one put with your PCP's rcords,  put one in a  fire-proof box, and laminate one for a refrigerator or  bulletine board. Make this something you use daily.   Good luck  to making the choice and making it work for you...Denise

Thanks for your positive intake.  I will certainly take your good advice.  I have been taking vitamins and supplements for over 20 years.  My Dr. has a list of all of them. I probably will need to change some.  All my blood work is done and have had my EKG.  All my info is coming in the mail.  We are not at home right now but going back Sat. Thanks again  Doris QC.
