Hi all ...
I just had the mini GBP procedure exactly one week ago, I'm not sure if some of the things I'm experiencing are common or there is something wrong,
Well ....
I'm on mashed foods right now, I eat and get full quite fast ... but then and hour and a half later I'd feel hungry again!!! Is that normal, should I eat .. should I hold back??
I read that at this stage I should be eating 5-6 small meals a day, but somewhere else it said 3 meals only and no snacking!!
I still crave food when I smell it .... is that normal??
Also, a friend asked me "so now you can eat fatty foods and your body won't absorb it" I understand that Mini GBP prevents the body from absorbing up to 70% of the fat, is that true??
I feel I'm not losing weight, and I'm thinking about food almost all the time!!
I want to do this right ... any advice on what foods to eat and what to avoid would be great ...
What do you think??

Hi,
I am very surprised you are on solid food already. Is this what your surgeon recommends? Your new tummy needs time to heal.
Regarding hunger. This can have many layers. Is it true hunger or head hunger. Is your mind reacting to situations, feelings or is it because you are truly hungry. You don't have to answer them but think about it. You may want to talk this over with your councelor if you have one. Having the surgery doesn't cure us. It's just a tool. We still have to deal with the issues that put us in an obese state in the first place. Also, getting some advice from a nutritionist may help as well. He/She can help with meal planning and selection.
As for eating fat, I wouldn't get too hung up on that. Just make healthy food choices. Yes, the nature of this surgery is to prevent absorption of some fat.
Keep in touch and please, revisit the food stages as to what to eat and when.
