Hospital Vida in TJ

 Hi Everybody!
Does anyone here know anything about the Hospital Vida or Dr. Ponce in TJ?
I wanted to schedule surgery for the 29th with Dr. Almanza @ the Jerusalem Clinic/Emanuel Ctr and I am being told that there are not any available appts. but that I can have Dr. Ponce do the surgery (also that he has more experience with MGB) at the "Vida Hospital".
I was just curious if anyone here had any input?
Just a bit nervous but I really am anxious to get the surgery too....

I had MGB by Dr Ponce and Almanza but it was done in TJ. Don't know about the facility Vida Hospital. Had excellant care and no complications. Although Dr Rutledge undoubtedly has done the most MGB's in the states, there are alot of surgeons out there that perform MGB's and the RNY. Just keep researching so when you are put under you  are confident  in those who are doing it.

I was also curious about Dr. Ponce De Leon in TJ. I haven't found much information about him either. What have you found out and did you have the surgery?

Hi Ashley, Yes, I had my surgery on December 10th with Dr. Ponce de Leon. It was done at the hospital Jeruselam in Tijuana. I am happy to say it has been a success! As of today I am down 52lbs! I couldn't be happier, except I have been in a stall for about 2 weeks...ugh. But I guess that is to be expected. I chose him for the prices, I had a limited budget. I have not needed any aftercare, I have been watching my protein intake because I do not want to lose any hair! Overall, I am a satisfied customer! If you have any other questions, just let me know!

oh wow 52 lbs good job!! =) and its only been about two months =) i been researching dr. im very scared to be honest the doctor im doing it with i cant really find alot of info on but they told me hes good! how much did u pay for your sleeve? and yes im scared of the hair loss =( lol well its good to know your doing great!! keep up the work! at the end its gonna be all worth it!  =)

I can relate to being scared! I was still a little scared up until a month after surgery thinking something was not right or I worried I was going to have a leak... I never found a lot of information about him before I left, I guess I just braved it out because I wanted it sooo bad. But I actually have felt pretty great...Glad I did it, good luck!

Yeah I think everyone gets nervous with a surgery like this one. I  went ahead and did some research or dr. ponce de leon. He kinda convinces me more than the doctor I had chosen. I really don’t wanna take your time… but it would really help me if you tell me how  your surgery went =) pain? Nurses? The house they take you to?
