Hi,
Yes there are patients in Canada. I suggest you start from their website http://clos.net and talk to the staff. There is a great email list you can join and talk to many folks who are in various stages of their journey. I am nine years postop. With any weight loss surgery, you need to learn to eat healthy and keep active. This will be a big plus in your success. Lots to read on the website so give yourself time.

OHIP has stopped all MGB procedures. If you want it, you will need to self pay.

I'm a failed MGB client. I think I was mistaken on the surgery circuit. He by passed 8 feet of instestine instead of 4 to 6 feet which was all I needed for my weight loss. I had to have a revision done (by another dr. because I didn't trust Rutledge to do the right thihg) and was revised to a gastric sleeve. I have been stable at 125 lbs. for 2 years with my revision. If you want a cattle call and take your chances, go to Rutledge. Otherwise. I would advise searching out other alternatives.
