Hi, sorry the response took so long. I didn't keep the sites and had to search them out--was not able to find all of them, but below are some links--

(for this go down and select Dr. Pilcher's letters--he has a response to MGB surgery question)

It was my cousin who had the surgery done by a surgeon in Missouri. The original surgery took 3 hours--not the 1 hour it usually needs--so there must have been some issues there. My Aunt was in the waiting room very scared.
She lost all her weight and kept on losing--suffered GERD, dumping, had a kidney stone. She went back to stage I and stage II diets and still kept losing--could not keep food down. My Aunt asked me to research doctors in St. Louis who performed gastric bypass surgery reversals. My sister works in a medical reference library and gave me a list of surgeons registered as doing reversals. When my cousin contacted them one by one, not one would even see her. Her surgeon wasn't returning her calls and neither was Dr. Rutledge. My cousin told me she was afraid they would just let her die, that nobody would be willing to do anything. She tried posting on CLOS and got thrown out.
I went on my computer and found out none of these other bariatric surgeons perform the MGB--so none of them would reverse a procedure the are not familiar with performing. I continued my research and found articles, blogs, etc. Have to admit they are kind of difficult to find--not like all the kudo articles which come up so easily.
Finally, after threats and angry phone calls with his office, the surgeon agreed to see my cousin and subsequently performed the reversal. She weighed 103 lbs at the time of the surgery and after some setbacks she is now gaining weight. She looked and felt anorexic, skeletal, etc.
My cousin had two friends who had the MGB and are happy. In my research I determined that all of the weight loss surgeries can have major complications, so you should really be in physical peril from your weight before you consider any of them. My problem with the MGB is that they downplay the complications and do not want to hear from you when they occur. I also believe they should somehow tell people that this is not an "accepted procedure" by the majority of surgeons, and let them make a truly educated decision. If they don't deal with the problems they probably don't enter it into their database for "unsuccessful results."
I have not actually looked at this site in a while. Coming back I was able to find "bad results" fairly quickly. The one issue which seems repetitive is the problem people have with contacting their doctor when they have problems. NOT GOOD.

I am a failed MGB patient. I even went to see Dr. Rutlege in person when I was at a dangerous level, and he said, I would probably be a candidate for revision. Well, I would not let him touch me again, since I got down to 92 lbs.! Luckily I found a surgeon in my area who would revise the procecdure and he ended up putting my pyloric valve back to my stomach and doing a gastric sleeve. He reversed 8 ft. of intestinal bypass, which was at least double what it should have been for an 80 to 100 lbs. loss. So he made my stomach smaller, re-hooked up all my bypassed intestine, and included the pyloric valve. I gained from 92 lbs. to 125 lb.s and have held there for 2 years. I'm finally healthy, I don't have to worry about hitting a bathroom up to 15 times a day for diahrrea. Everything is normal now. And my lactose intolerance was reversed so I can drink milk again and eat ice cream without horrible abdominal discomfort.
Thank goodness for my local surgeon. I would highly advise MGB patient contenders to check out the gastric sleeve as an alternative.
