I know everyone's different,  but I am wondering what the average recovery time would be for a gastric bypass.  I am 43yrs old, in relatively good health, no major problems except of course my weight.  Just wondering!  Thank you!  P.S. Does anyone regret having had this surgery?

Hi,

Well, there are several kinds of gastric bypass.  With the MGB, barring any complications, you can be back at work in a about two weeks if the job is without alot of physical strain.  It just depends on how you feel.  I know some that went back to work in a week.

No!  I don't regret it at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Clueless about weight loss and weight loss surgery of any kind.

no no regrets given my other choice was death.  ;-} i went back to work the same day i got back hom. tried to keep it light, but a very physical job. i took pain killers to get over the pain. i went back way to early. i felt like well close to my old self at about week 4, but again probably because i pushed it way to soon. man 2 weeks off would have been great.   Will
