Bile Reflux after MGB

I FEEL so relieved to find this forum - I've been MISERABLE for months.  I had a Full Gastric September 2008, and down from 275 to 135.  I also had my Gall Bladder removed in May of 2012.  For the last many months - I've been battling with this unfathomable amount of Bile in the back of my throat.  So much so, makes me gag.  Primary care kept telling me it was post nasal drip.  I've tried everything, and basically after doing my own research came to the conclusion it's EERD.  I've been taking Xantac two times a day, with a mixture of Gaviscon.  Sometimes it's helpful - sometimes not.  I'm going to try the Triphala and see how it goes.  If not helping I'm heading back to the surgeon.  Thank You ALL for the helpful information - I finally feel hopeful.

 

I had an MGB with Dr. Rutledge in Nov. 2006 that was revised to a gastric sleeve in 2007 by a different surgeon.  I had acid reflux from the beginning, but by taking Prilosec OTC twice a day, it has resolved.  Now I get the prescription for the generic because it is cheaper with my insurance.  But it takes care of the reflux.
