Hi Jennifer, Im Donna age 39 and Im an Army wife we are stationed at Ft. Stewart Ga or should I say "HE**"? Should I say we hate this place??? We were stationed at Ft. Hood TX and I loved it there and miss it badly. lol We have two boys ages 18 and 13 yrs old, yes they are growing up fast. My surgery is scheduled for Aug 29th and I am excited and scared all rolled up into one. And for the lady that said she is pcs'ing to Bragg you will love it there, well Im a little partial to it because Im originally from NC, however, I go there like every other weekend to my aunts house, he boyfriend sells the best BBQ on post lol ok ok enough if you wanna chat about it send me an email. If this is something that you feel you must try. It really wouldn't hurt anything. If worse came to worse you could start over when you did PCS. I tried to get the WLS done in SC when we were there . I did everything I could ...but in my situation they would not do the surgery because the doctor said it would be like leaving you on the doorstep of another Dr. to do your followups. I know that you said that you are only 12 hours away. I am only 8 from where we were in SC. If everything goes perfect after WLS that is not a problem...but 12 hours away if you have problems with surgery is uncomprehensible. I promise I am not trying to rain on your parade. IF you wanted to try it will not hurt you either way. If worse came to worse you could always restart. I haven't had a problem at all restarting. IT is like a Tricare representative said ..once you qualify you still qualify; but if you PCS everything has to be restarted from your PCM. You have nothing to loose at trying.......even failing you get another chance. Jaye Jaye

Hi Alison Welcome No I don't think it's unreasonable because with you PCSing you may have to start all over with the new doctor. Good luck

Hello! I am new to the website and so happy to find AF forums here. I am a new AF wife and still learning a few things. I just went to a RYN seminar last night, filled out my application and ready for something to happen. I have been reading so many posts and its good to know that you can get approved quickly. DH is in tech school and we are doing our first PCS in late October. I have lived in my hometown for 15 years and would like to get the surgery at a hospital I know and trust. So I am trying to get it done here in town. We are PCSing only 12 hours away so I can go to my 3 and 6 mth check up. Am I completely unreasonable to try and get it done before PCS? I can't wait to read all your posts, I am a research FREAK. I like to know everything about what I am doing.

Topic: Newbie with a question
Hi Everyone, I'm a newbie to the boards. I've read a lot and posted a few replies here and there, however I haven't introduced myself or posted any of my own threads. I woke up this morning and tricare had updated status for 2 of my referrals (the only 2 listed so far) and I am just curious what exactly the approval is for. I plan to call the Dr's office on Monday but you know how impatient and rushed/curious we all are when it comes to going through the approval's process. I will be cross posting this to the insurance forum for obvious reasons and the military and NC forum since I visit those often and see a few people that have or are using tricare as well. Thanks in advance! Here is what the tricare site says to me, and after that I will post the burning questions lol Referral #1: Begin date of service: 08-22-2007 End date of service: 11-19-2007 Place of service: DOCTOR'S OFFICE Decision: APPROVED Reason: APPROVE, MTF COMMANDER OVERRIDE -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Approved service type: MEDICAL CARE, SKILLED NURSING Approved procedure range: Beginning procedure: OFFICE CONSULTATION FOR A NEW OR ESTABLISHED PATIENT, WHIC Ending procedure: OFFICE CONSULTATION, 3 KEY COMPONENTS: COMPREHENSIVE HX;CO Quantity: 1 UNITS Frequency: AS NEEDED Referral #2: Begin date of service: 08-22-2007 End date of service: 02-17-2008 Place of service: DOCTOR'S OFFICE Decision: APPROVED Reason: APPROVE, MTF COMMANDER OVERRIDE -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Approved service type: MEDICAL CARE, SKILLED NURSING Approved procedure range: Beginning procedure: OFFICE/OP VISIT, EST PT, NOT REQUIRING PHYSICIAN PRESENCE, Ending procedure: OFFICE/OP VISIT, EST PT, 2 KEY COMPONENTS:COMPREHENSIVE HX Quantity: 5 UNITS Frequency: AS NEEDED Did my Dr already submit the approval for the surgery OR is this just for the consult visit? If it's just for the consult visit why would there be 2 approvals? The first one looks to me to be the obvious consult appt. but the 2nd referral really does make me curious. Am I dreaming or imagingin it? I thought maybe someone who has seen their claim online might be able to offer some assistance for this impatient newbie If no one knows I will come back and post Monday night after I get back from work with an update Crissy

Hi everybody. My name is Heidi. I'm 40 and it will be 10 years next month of being married. I'm a Army wife and we are stationed in the lovely FT SILL OK (just Kidding). Hate it here. My DH deceided to get into the military last year. So this is the first time being away from home. Any way I have a step daughter that lives in Wa with her mom she is going on 16. Other then that we don't have any kids. I have a lab mix that thinks he is my kid. His name is Duke and is 9 years old. I also have 2 birds Twiddle dee and Twiddle dum. I had the surgery back in May right before my 40th birthday. Happy birthday to me a new life. I have lost a total of 52 pounds since I started this jounery. I have my good days and bad days.

I am Christy. I am 32 years old. I have been married to my husband Jason for the past 11 years. He is an E-5 in the Air Force, which he joined right after we were married. After years of infertility and miscarriages (5 total) we have been blessed with 2 boys, Jude who is 5 and Ezra who is 2. They keep me extremely busy. We are orginally from the New Orleans Area but are currently stationed at Moody AFB in South Georgia. We have been here over 4 years and Hubby just put in for some overseas assignments so we will see how that plays out. I had RYN on August 13th so almost 2 weeks out. I started this process in June weighing 232 lbs. I am currently at about 205 now. That's about all Look forward to getting to know some of you.
