Hi Jennifer, My name is April, I'm 25 married to my Air Force man for 4.5 years now. We have an adorable son named Lucas who's 19mths. We are stationed at Keesler AFB, in Biloxi, MS. I've been here for 7 years and hubby has been her for 4 years. The program is just getting started again here at Keesler since Hurricane Katrina flooded our hospital. I went to the pre-op class a few weeks ago and am just waiting to hear from Dr. Dolans nurse with my date. So looking forward to joining everyone on the loosers bench..

I will be having my endoscopy on Wednesday. I was wondering what to expect. For those of you who have had it done, can you give me some insight on what to expect? I know I will be completely out of it, but what will I feel when I wake up? Will I have a sore throat or anything like that? I'm just curious about it. Thanks in advance.

I have some that look like that. One they have 2 different dates. So you will be able to get all your appointments. Some places may not be able to see you right away. They did not submit for your surgery yet. They submitted these so that you can see the other doctors that you need to see before they submit for the WLS surgery. They did this to me. The nurse at the surgeons office put in all the referrals for me. They were for me to see the psychatrist, for my endoscopy, the nutr. consult (even though it was denied), and my ultrasound. If you don't have a referral, then you will have to pay out of pocket. Where it says not requiring a physician present, that means you will be seeing a nurse or lab tech. You can also call tricare(1-877-TRICARE) or go to www.mytricare.com and register. It is a great website to check on claims and referrals and authorizations too. Good luck. I am in the same boat as you. I have my ultrasound tomorrow and my endoscopy Wednesday. Then all I have left is my pscyh. evalu before I submit for WLS. I am so ready.

Make room for me cause I'm coming your way. We got our orders changed and we are coming back to NC. DH has to check in to New River in February 08. We will be coming to house hunt in November. We are staying with friends over Thanksgiving, in Jacksonville. I am okay with the change, I guess. I still want to go back to Japan but we still have a few years to end up there. So I want us all to get together come next year.

Not unreasonable, but you may want to think about a couple of things You might just want to wait and move in with your hubby after surgery, especially if you have family to take care of you where you are, and trust the hospital. +++ Your hubby might have a hard time getting time off to care for you. OR if you have surgery after you PCS you most likely have family only 12 hours away, that could come up, and help care for you. OR... you can go through this now, and maybe a second time. It's all up to you, and what you're willing to do, or want to do. I can tell you after surgery tho, when I had an infection (not from WLS) I did not want to go on any 12 hour car rides! So I think you should either stay back and have it done, or have it done at the next place.
