I know how you feel. I have friends, but not any that I really share much common ground with. Idaho is a little far from Illinois. Hey, but they start with the same letter. Having had WLS puts us in a whole different catagory. It would be really nice to get together with others in the same situation. There has to be someone in your area. You have a much larger population than I do here. Diana

I'm no where near there either, but you can email me anytime also. It is really hard doing it by yourself. I am stuck over in Mississippi. My husband is deployed and my nearest family is in the panhandle of Texas. So....... I understnad what you are feeling. I have friends here, but not many who have had the WLS. So if you ever need to talk, even though none of us may be there close by, you can email any of us. Everyone is so willing to help and lend their support. It will get better.

Hi Wendi, my name is Jaye Jaye. Sorry I am not close enough to be able to grab a cup of coffee with you; but anytime you need some support or want to talk or vent about something feel free to email me. I know you are really looking for someone in your area, and I am sure you will find them. But, if you just need some words of encouragement or whatever just drop a line.

Topic: Need A Friend
Hi all, I know this title sounds pathetic but I am in need of a friend that I can share the WLS with. The only family I have near is my husband and kids. I don't get out much because of work and school, but now I want a friend that would like to get coffee, hang out and just talk. I live near Great Lakes Naval Station in Illinois. My husband is retired Navy, so I came here to look for someone that I would have things in common with.
Thank you.

I'm so glad you are home and feelling well. Welcome to the losers bench. too bad about your tonsil. I'm sure that hurts a little, mine are gone so no problem there. I had a sore throat for a few days after they were removed so I know how that feels.
Are you hungry at all. that is the most amazing thing to me. I have no hunger and can eat so little. I'm not the least bit tempted by forbidden food especially sweets. I hope that lasts a very long time.
Take care of yourself and don't overdo especially as you feel so good. Hug back to you Diana

Just wanted to let you guys know that I am home now, I actually got home yesterday Ive posted to the RNY board but had things to do so Im just now getting around to this board.
My surgery has been great so far and I hope that it will continue that way. The only problems were that they had a problem putting an airway tube in and in the process cut off a piece of my tonsil yes OUCH! That is the biggest pain that I have had well besides the soreness. Ive not hurt once since surgery and I thank God for that. I used the morphine pump twice, didn't like the way it made me feel so I asked for different meds. I didnt need the pain meds for the surgery just needed it so that I could swallow. Im still shocked about not having any pain, Im not griping about it just shocked!
Any way Im home and feeling great, Im still a little sore but other than that Ive been doing great. I hope and pray that everybody that has this surgery will have it as well as I have had it. Good Luck to you all.
Thank you guys soooooo Much for your prayers.
Hugs and kisses
