Thanks for responding!
I finally got a hold of the housing office for Pope's housing, this afternoon. And they were able to email some photos and floor plans. They are the older looking homes, I guess hoping company grade officers would rather have the single homes instead of the duplex style. The Pope homes are 300 less square footage then the Bragg homes. So we'll probably end up with a duplex home instead of the single family ones. DH and I are still discussing it.
Thanks again!!

Topic: RE: Off Topic ~ Fort Bragg / Pope AFB Housing
I have never been to Fort Bragg; but we are stationed at Fort Rucker, Alabama. It is our second time here. Picerne has taken over the houses here two years ago. They are saying it is going to be another eight years before they are completely done renovating. When we were first here and lived on post 2003-2005. The house we were in was part of a duplex. It was nice; but they had cement floors throughout. We are still in a duplex; but what Picerne has done is really really nice. We have carpet in the living room and bedrooms. The kitchen and hall are tiled..not cement anymore. They put a chain linked fence in the backyard, and a covered patio with a ceiling fan. The walls are all a tan color with white trim (instead of being all blan and white the way they were before). We were also told we could paint the rooms whatever color we wanted ; if we wanted to change them. The only thing we would have to do is recoat them with a grey primer before we left so they could be repainted back tan. To be honest with you it looks great the way it is. Also, we have our grass cut and edged and blown off every Wednesday. Yeah!!!! It is all apart of the service everyone gets. I am really happy with the results. If you get one of the homes they have redone or shortly thereafter of getting there I don't think you will be disappointed!!

(Cross post ~ main forum)
We will be PCSing soon to Fort Bragg, NC. DH and I have both been looking online at housing on Fort Bragg. I guess as of September 1st Fort Bragg's housing office (Picerne) has taken over the housing on Pope AFB. So now Army soldiers (and families) can live in the Pope AFB housing. The houses being offered on Pope are single family homes, instead of multiplex or duplex homes on Bragg.
Because they just newly took over Pope's housing there are no pictures or floor plans available yet. I couldn't even find anything on Pope AFB's homepage. Does anyone know what shape this houses are in? (We'll be getting a 4 bedroom). Are they single story or two? Do they have living, dining and family rooms? Carports or garages?
If you could compare them to another base's/post's housing, which would that be?
Thanks!

This is what Tricare's handbook says (from here, pg 23: https://www.triwest.com/triwest/unauth/content/member_services/handbook/prime/Prime_Handbo
ok_06_L.pdf:
"The patient is 100 pounds over the ideal weight for height and bone structure and has one of these associated medical conditions: diabetes mellitus, hypertension, cholecystitis, narcolepsy, Pickwickian syndrome (and other severe respiratory diseases), hypothalamic disorders, and severe arthritis of the weight-bearing joints."
Isn't Hyperlipidemia, high cholesterol? Most insurers count high cholesterol as a co-morbidity. I'm surprised Tricare doesn't mention it. I'd call Tricare and see for sure though.
Have you had your gallbladder checked? Cholescystitis is when your gallbladder is inflamed. Some people don't know it is inflamed until an ultrasound shows it is. Couldn't hurt to check that.
Also, in high school and when I was in the Army (when DH and I first married) I was 5'8. I was shocked to see I had shrunk to 5'7 when I went in for my surgeon referral and again when I was measured at the surgeon's office. You could be shorter too if you haven't been obese your whole adult life. The shorter you are the less you have to weight to qualify.
???? I don't know, I'm just trying to find a way to help. Being 10lbs from the 200% limit..... it is so close.....

Diana,
Thanks for all of your advice! I've been trying so hard to constantly be sipping on my water or protein shake. Yeah that 14ga that they started on my hurt like hell! They had already got a 20ga in my hand before surgery, but I guess before they started they thought they needed something a little bigger. I was just glad they took that darn thing out quick! I wish I had you hospital bed.. Mine was nice, but not that nice.. lol.. I'm sorry you had a ruff recovery from surgery, but I'm so happy that you are doing well now..
I reposted this to make sure you get the message that I posted back to you.. I didn't think that it would put my message above yours.. sorry about that..

TaReesa,
I'm so glad I was able to help you with what to expect.. I knew I had to write everything down, just in case I forgot some detail in my journey.. You will do great! The only pain I really had was from my back and my stomach would ache anytime I would move, but It was not like a horrible pain, it was a lot less. I too hope your surgery goes as smoothly as mine did! Keep us posted on how things are going with you & before you know it your date will be here! If you have anymore questions feel free to ask!

Well, I stopped and got copies of my medical records today to take to my surgeon. I found out that my doctor put the following: Due to patient being morbidly obese, she is experiencing bilateral foot pain and hypolipidema (not sure what this is, but it has something to do with the lipids in the blood). Do you think these qualifiy for comorbidities?
