Topic: denied twice
Has anyone, here, ever been denied by tricare and had the decision changed on appeal? I have been denied, twice and have now hired an attorney to represent me in my final appeal. i am sooooooooo frustrated, I meet tricares criteria. I have a BMI of 41.2, have sleep apnea, GERD and low thyroid. I was shocked by both denials.
Also, if you had surgery on base, where? We are stationed near Memphis Tennessee. I am starting to feel like the only person Tricare won't cover. I know that is a little dramatic, but again I am sooooo frustrated.

I am so gald that you are finished with your surgery. It sounds like it went well. It feels so good to be losing weight. I am a slow loser, but I have never lost this much weight this fast. It is a great ride. Nice gentle hugs to you. Diana

Wow. I can't believe what you are going through. Have they changed their policies in the last 3 months? I didn't have to have a 6 month diet and my EKG was done the day of surgery. I didn't have to write a letter, maybe the dr did.

I am doing much better. I also finished an 8,000 sq ft house that included a separate quest quaters along with a 2 car garage and RV garage. That is on top of the main 3 car garage.
I hope I will be able to be back on the boards a little more regularly. I can type with both hands now. It will take me forever to get caught back up.
They took me off my blood pressure med because my pressure was dropping way too low. I am having some pain, but it is much better. I am working on range of motion now. It should be healed within the next month. My jaw still hurts, I can't chew nute or other hard things. It will take a long time for that to heal.
I can't wait to start riding again. I need the exercise. thanks for caring. Diana

Welcome Brandi. I have been out for a while after a bike accident. I was really doing well with my exercize until then. My arm is broken and my femer has a small crack. I had more injusried than that, but I am healing and doing better.
I had a proximal RNY 3 months ago. It has been great. I am a slow loser, but I am losing. It is really starting to show.
My DH is retired after 40 years service as an Army Ranger. I have civilian dr's and my surgeon is great.
this is the best thing I have done for myself in a very long time. I am very glad I had the surgery. I just don't recommend falling while riding a bike.

hi brandi, my name is jennifer i am a navy wife we are stationed at NAS KINGSVILLE (30miles south of corpus). i am still in the process but actually just finished my last pre-op test (hopefully the last) so now i need to go in and get a date, again hopefully. i am having my surgery done at wilford hall afb (san antonio). well welcome. and feel free to ask any questions
