Topic: RE: Hi! Newbie here!
Hi Brandi. I'm Stacy. I'm also here at Fort Hood. My hubby is in Iraq and due to be back in January after being deployed for 15 months. I had my RNY in January and have lost 135 lbs since then. I'd love to share my story with you and help you along as much as I can.

Diana,
I glad that you have pretty much recovered from the pavement jumping up and biting you.
I know what you mean about the cold weather. It makes it hard for me to exercise outside as well.

Great to hear that things are going well. That is good, the 16 pounds. I think I am a little jealous. I can't wait until I am on the losing team!!! I will be there shortly. Well take care of yourself and make sure you get some rest.

It is so great to hear you are healing fine. Good to see you are getting back on your bike too. Good luck with that. Since that is going good, how is the weight loss coming along?

Thanks so much Diana. I want to congratulate you ....46 pounds is amazing
I do think this will be the best decision I have ever made. I know it is going to be a struggle for awhile; but I am ready for the change.

Topic: My broken bones
I just have to say that I am starting to do much better. I am able to start using my arm somewhat normally and I can get back on my bike. Don't worry, my DH bought me a trainer that allows me to use my bike as a stationary bike inside. I is stable and best of all whisper quiet. The regular stationary bikes, put me in a position that hurts my knees, hip and back. My regular bike doesn't. It is also too cold for my lungs to excersize outside for the winter.
I hope you are all doing well and either getting your approval or recoverying nicely.
Hugs to you all. Diana

congratulations! I share your excitement.
I could see it in my face right away also. Yes, you will be tired for a while. Remember it takes 6-8 weeks to recover, even if you feel good you are still in recovery. It took over 2 months for my bruises to go away.
I was amazed at how little pain I had also. My toe surgery was much more painful. And this dang broken arm, etc. has been more painful than surgery. You will get over being so tired. In the meantime, get your rest. Your body needs sleep in order to heal.
3 months out and 46 lbs lighter and I feel a lot better. That is slow loss, but OK. And it just keeps coming off, slow and steady. I am up to between 500-600 cal per day now. They say 1200 by 6 months, I don't know how I will be able to do that. I will be happy at 800.
This is an amazing surgery. We can be successful for the long term as long as we follow the rules. I have never before had a 3 month sustained loss except with phen-fen. I am so excited with my results, I just want to shout out loud and send everyone I know who is struggling to my Dr.
big hugs to you and good going. Diana

I just thought I would share my news. Wow, I am amazed it has been just 8 days after surgery...and I have lost 16 pounds . It is going to take a few months for drastic changes; but my face is so much smaller than before. My double chin....gone.
The only complaint I really have so far is that I am so tired. The Dr. said everything looked great, and the tiredness is very normal. I am basically living on less than 300 calories a day and my body has to get used to the changes. Considering all the stapeling and pulling , cutting and reconnecting I am not in any pain. Gastric bypass is really a very amazing surgery.
Hugs to you all,

Topic: RE: denied twice
What is their reason for denial? I have dealt with these people for so many years, I have learned that their way of thinking is somewhat off kilter.
I am battling with Tricare myself in regards to them not giving accurate information to me or my surgeon's office. They change what information they needed to be submitted for approval. The only way I found out was that after 2 weeks of them have my paperwork in process, I called to inquire what was going on.
