Welcome. It is always nice to have new members. I don't know much about having the surgery while your DH is gone. But one of my friends had hers done while her husband was in Korea. She had her sister go with her to all her appointments and with her to surgery. I can tell you that her husband was TRULY surprised when he got back home. And good luck at Moody. Me and my DH are from GA and would give anything to get orders to Moody. Good luck to you and welcome again.

I am so sorry to hear about that. I really hope that you do not give up. You have come to far to give up now. I know it is hard to start over, but you have too. It will be well worth it. Atleast you know that you will be approved. I'm sure it will not be that hard to find a new doctor. If all your tests are still current, you may not even have to have the test done over again. Keep your head up and don't give up. It will work out. I will be praying for you.

Robin, I am so sorry for all that, but you must know that you can not give up if this is something you really want. You must fight for it. I hope it all works out. If you need any thing please feel free to contact me, Layla

Well it looks like my surgery is cancelled and will not happen. i guess this either means I picked the wrong surgeon or wrong place or time to have it done. I am ready to give up and just live fat and happy. This is not worth al the stress on me and my family. So with this I will faewell for now, until I either get a new Dr or get out of this state.

I didn't have to do the Atkin's diet before surgery; but I have done it before. I can remember reading in my adkins book that you are actually suppose to eat the regular kind of bacon. It is a weird diet...I guess all of it is basically based on fat. YOu are suppose to have butter, not margerine. You can have regular manaise; but since you don't like eggs I really don't know what you would use the manaise for..I use to boil eggs and make stuffed eggs. I would also cook chicken in butter, eat hamburger meat with cheese on top. Really the only thing I can think of is you could put some cheese on the sausage or bacon. I know it doesn't help much ; but for the first phase of Adkins ...you really are pretty much limited to Red meat, butter, eggs, mayonaise.
I know I wasn't much help; but just think two weeks of that mess and then your surgery
You can do anything for two weeks.

Hey guys, I have to start Atkins tomorrow. I have to do 2 weeks of Atkins before my surgery. I have done Atkins about 4 times before. However, I am nervous about it this time. I have no idea why. I think because it has to do with the surgery. The question I have is what kinds of foods can I eat for breakfast? I don't like eggs. I have gotten that answer from most people. I got all my other meals down. I am a breakfast eater. Now I just dont' know what to eat. I bought some turkey bacon and some sausage links. Any other ideas?

I am so sorry that you are having such a hard time. It is just like Diana said ,"Good things come to those who wait." There are alot of politics when it comes to medical care. Maybe everything happened for good reason. Just keep your faith that this is what God intended(your surgery in a different facility). I will be praying for you, and that your date be kept the same as it was.
God Bless you,
Keep your faith,

I honestly do not know what the deal is with the hospital. I have heard they are not closing down until Jan. 1st, so it makes me wonder why they are cancelling surgeries that have already been scheduled. I just knew there was something bad about this state. HA HA I do hope to still have the surgery, not sure at this point if it will be with the same surgeon or not. I have been having nothing but bad luck since Feb with this office. Which is bad because I really felt like he was the best surgeon in this area. So I will wait and see.
Thanks for all the happy thoughts and great prayers.

Hurry up and wait that is the military way. This has to be very discouraging. Will you still have the same surgeon? Did he leave there becasue he didn't like the care his patients were getting or something like that. There is a lot of politics in medicine.
I will remember you in my prayers. Sometimes things take so long that you do start to wonder. But then good things do happen to those who wait. You may be in much better hands in the new hospital.
Prayers are being sent. I hope you can feel them. It really helped me jsut to know that there were people out there who cared. Hugs are being sent for you also. Diana
