Hi, my name is Jamie and I am an Army wife. Hubby, son and I are stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY. I am due to have Open RNY this month. I am just waiting for an OR to open up....LOL! Our hospital is badly in need of anesthesiologists! I have actually been on the "wait list" since October 2003 (nothing to do witht the shortage... there is only one surgeon who does WLS and he is the department head so he can only do so many surgeries a month, plus he keeps deploying). Which is the really sucky part Anyways, I try and post to the Army list but it seems that no one chats so I figured I would check this board out...LOL! So HELLO all! Brightest Blessings~ Jamie

Just to let you know... it really fluxuates with Tricare! There really is not a magic number because they also take into consideration co-morbids and stuff. I am 5'4 and I was approved at 238 because I was over 40%BMI and I had co-morbids. I have seen people get approved at even slightly lower number with severe co-morbids. LOL! So did you get approved? Brightest Blessings~ Jamie M.

I haven't been here in awhile because this board is so slow! But I'm Jill, 27, Army wife and mom to our almost 8 year old twin daughters and 4 year old son. We're stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC. I had open RNY done in April 2004 by a civilian, so I'm about 8½ months out, and I've lost 108lbs. I have 30 more lbs to lose to hit "goal".

I have heard this or actually read from others messages that you have to complain about the rash to the doc.. So they can document it not sure if that is for the outside or if the doc will just put in for a TT.. Maggie

WOW!!! You got a TT. And tricare coverd it. I just wonder what it would take for tricare to cover mt tt. My apron don't hang below real real bad. I have herniated disk in my lower back and i have been treated for that. I get rashes real bad also. Do you think tricare will cover my tt on those grounds.?? Thanks debra

Topic: Tummy tuck question
I was just wondering what tricare looks at before thay approve you for a tt. I have huniated disk in my neck and lower back and a have rashes under my appron. I don't have real real bad hanging skin. It does hang but not way over my pelvi (Sorry spelling sucks ) But, It pulls my hips down and i hurt real bad. I get the rashes real bad. I think i need to go to the doctors and see if he can give me something for it. Anyway, Can anyone answer my questions? Thank you, DEBRA
