Hello, everyone! I am new to this site, just registered and I am soooo excited! I have an appointment with my PCM on Wednesday to get this ball rolling! Does anyone have any advice for me? Is there anything I can do to speed the process up? I am ready for a surgery date NOW! ha ha. I am in Colorado Springs so if anyone is local or anyone for that matter would like to email me, please do! I am looking forward to using this site to find new friends and to support me on my journey to a new me! I have done extensive research and have finally committed to having the surgery!

Hi Angel and welcome to the board! My name is Jamie and I am post-op RNY. I just had my surgery on 1/19/05 and I have already lost 10 pounds! WOW! Anyways, I am glad you made it here, we need more folks chatting! I am a mother of one, hubby is in the Army and we are stationed at Fort Campbell, KY. That is SUCH BS! I am so glad that you got approved tho! I could not imagine moving 4 weeks post op though. GOOD LUCK to you! Man, that is nuts. Here at Campbell they will not allow you to have surgery unless you can be here at least a few months post op. Some places within Tricare will not let you have surgery if you are due for PCS within a year of your surgery. It seems to me that Tricare is really inconsistant. Since I am having surgery on base I did not even have to go through any formal approval process, at least that I have seen. LOL! Perhaps it is because my surgeon is the cheif of staff? Who knows...LOL! Goos luck... I am so envious... I am still waiting for an OR to open up so I can have mine! Jamie

LOL! Although I doubt you will find any women on active duty on this website...lol... the military doesn't exactly allow you to get morbidly obese, they typically boot you before that.
