Hi, I just found this board... thanks to your post on the main board. I've just started the process. My husband is Navy here in Washington State. I would love to talk to other military wives about this. But it doesn't seem like this board has much activity. I have soooo many questions, and I can't find the right answers because it seems no one has dealt with Military Doctors.
I would love to get this board started again.

I'm at Ft. Stewart but had my surgery at Ft. Gordon. The next support group meeting at Stewart is on June 12 @ 1900 in the hospital conference room on the 2nd floor. There are some really great people in the group and at least 3 of us have just gone through surgery. Feel free to add me to your friends list.

We are a little over 7 hours apart but that doesnt mean we cant be friends. Who knows I might get a wild streak going on and just might would drive down there. I have just gotten me a new jeep wrangler and after I start losing I might think Im small enough to take the top down... on the jeep that is lol and head your way might even get Erica to meet me here at Stewart and she and I both take a trip down your way.

I talked to me PCM, on base, about have gastric by-pass. Within 3 days Dr.Lords office called me to register me for the seminar. 
That was it, no jumping through hoops, nothing. The only problem I am having now is getting the surgeons office to send in my paperwork 
to Tricare for final approval for surgery. But that is not 
a problem with Tricare, I have heard all good things 
regarding them. So good luck!
