I wish you luck. I know that the Tri-care handbool states that you have to be 100 Lbs overweight with co-morbities or 200% of you recommended weight. I think they go more by weight than BMI from what I understand. Make sure when you weigh that they recheck your height. I know my BMI went up because I am not as tall as I thought. Which also makes me more overweight.

Topic: HELP!
Has Tricare approved anyone who had a BMI of 38 with Diabetes? I set up my 1st consult and the nurse on the phone made it sound as if I wouldnt be approved because My BMI wasnt over 40 and I wasnt 100 lbs overweight, More like 90lbs.

Topic: Going to see the Surgeon
I have been on my path to WLS since February. I have had my Psych eval, been to the required seminar that my surgeon requires. I have gathered all of the paperwork he requires an finally my appointment is on Wednesday I am kind of curious if anyone knows what to expect on my visit to the surgeon. It feels like it has been forever trying to get in with the surgeon. I really hope they know how Tri-care works and that they can get my paperwork sent in for approval right away. I know a couple of people who have used my surgeon and have had great success with tri-care I just hope eveything goes a smoothly for me.
