Hi Cristy! Glad you found us!
If you go through an MTF then there will be no dealing with Tricare. Our MTF doesn't do WLS. I did all my stuff off post. It took about 4 months. Would have been sooner but some labs were lost. It took less than 24hrs for Tricare to approve me.
I had heard that there is a wait when doing WLS at an MTF. I don't know the truth of that though.
And when dealing with tricare, (if not using a MTF) with a BMI of 42, they might require you to have a co morbidity. I believe their website sates something about being 100 lbs overweight WITH COMORBIDITIES or 200% of ideal body weight.
Good luck to you and keep us updated!!!

Topic: hey everyone!!!
Thank you all for the well wishes. I am feeling GREAT today!!!! I got home on Saturday and it was hard adjusting. I am able to walk 10 mins at a time, more I'm sure if I pu**** I can also walk upright and no longer hunched over. My liquids are staying down and I have not missed food at all. Actually, it is a turn off! I have an appt on Wednesday and if all is well, I will move on to the purred stage.
I hope everyone is well. Look forward to hearing from ya'll!!!!

Glad to have you here Tanya! WELCOME!!!! My husband is active Army and has been deployed 3 times to Iraq and 1 time to Afghanastan and is on rotation to head back to Iraq so I know how it is when the DH is deployed. Eating and worrying is about all we can do right? Ive gained so much weight in the past few years its not even funny so eating and a thyroid problem has gotten the best of me lol. But Im working on it! Ive not gotten a date yet but Im hoping it will be soon.
Again Welcome to the board, glad to have you.
Hugssssssss

Wecome to the board. We are retired after 40 years. So, I am old.
I am glad I don't have to worry about deploment anymore. My husband has 8 1/2 years of actual combat. He's been wounded twice. I feel for you young ones that still have to face that. Good luck with your surgery. I am Preop, just getting my stuff together.
I worked in Lab for 35 years. I can't do it anymore, I can't walk enough and I just got burnt out. I had to work alone a lot without any backup or phlebotomist. Not even a secretary. I worked very closely with the Docs and nurses. Er would hellp triage for me when things were rough. I helped them out when they needed it. Teamwork works. Good luck with your boards. I'm gald I don't have to go through that again. Mine was a national registry testing. Are you going for a 4 yr RN? Diana
