Topic: RE: Question about recovery?
Could you hire a young girl to come in for a couple of hours in the afternoons so you can get some rest? At lest 2 or 3 days that 3rd week. That is probably going to be the biggest thing you will need. I feel for you having to deal with surgery while your DH is gone.
On the plus side, you might lose enough weight to compensate for her weight by the 3rd week. We don't realize how hard it is to pack ourselves around until we lose it and
and then carry something and realize we have been packing that around for a long time. She could be walking by then also. You will still be picking her up, but maybe not as much. I wish I could come and help you. I would like to help everyone. Its a little too far I'm afraid. and I am not much good cause I can't pick up my grandkids. But I hope the thought counts some. Diana

Hi Mary!
I'm just over 2 weeks out (16 days) and with 3 kids (8,6 and 8 months) I too was worried about carrying my baby. The first week my mom too was with me (my DH is deployed). But after that I was just fine carrying her. I can carry her up and down the stairs just fine too.
I think it really depends on how you are feeling. If you feel just fine walking up and down the stairs by yourself, you are probably okay doing with your baby. Listen to your body and listen to your surgeon. I only had lifting restrictions for the first week.
HTH!

hello tereesa, i was married to an air force man; her dad. he was at lackland, shepard and kelly afb in texas. then he went to mcguire afb in nj. that is so cool that you are an af wife for i was one too
my daughter LOVES it there and out her window is the beautiful mountain landscape. she loves it so much she told me she never wants to come back to the states. they are there for 3 years and then relocate to hawaii. take care.

Welcome!!! I was glad I found this site too. It is nice to talk to people who are going through the same thing, with the military. Good luck with your surgery.

I like that, but I would have to put Air Force where Army is. My husband is in the Air Force. How is your daughter liking Baumholder? When my mom was in the Army, we were stationed there. At first I hated it because it was in the mountains. but after a while it grew on me.
