Topic: I Have A Date!!!!!!
Hello to all, I have a pre-op date with Dr. S of Aug 1 and a operation date of Aug 16. Time is moving so slowly..... any suggestions on how to make it move faster or on what I should be doing to prepare for surgery. I would love any advice. Thanks

I just decided to check out the forum today and was ecstatic to see that we have more people/ posts than I have ever seen. This is my favorite board becasue we all deal with like issues. Anyway, just wanted to tell yall that I am happy. Oh yeah and my surgery is in just over a week! That makes me happy too!

Topic: RE: TRICARE Standard Approval
Tricare Standard was easy. According to my Doctors office it only take 5 days for approval. I just got approved yesterday. Had absolutely no problems whatsoever.

Topic: RE: Got a referral... what will stop me now?
Im seeing an Army doctor for my surgery so approval was not a problem, but I know my BMI is over 40 and I have Asthma, osteoarthritis and back pain. They approved me. I only had to show my weight loss attempts with them. General Surgery set up my EKG, my chest xray and my Endoscopy, I had to set up the psych eval and nut but I got my appointments at the same hospital that is doing my surgery. I haven't had to pay anything out of pocket "yet" lol no telling when they might send me a bill you know the Army lol. I wish you luck Donna Ft. Stewart Ga

Topic: RE: Hawaii , Tri-Care & plastic surgery
I think what you may need to do is call Tri-Care and see if the referrel for a civie doc has been put in so you can get your plastics. I know my story is a little different however, it still may work the same way, when I needed to see the Gyn for my yearly thing the MFT was booked up for a few months so I called the patient advocate at the hospital and told them that I needed it done ASAP and that it would be months before i could be seen at the Army hospital so she told me to find a doc... call her back with a name and she would put in a referrel so that I could see that doc, I called her back with a name and within two weeks I got a letter in the mail from Tri-Care that referred me to that specific Doctor. Not sure if that helps you out any at all but maybe find a doctor that accepts Tri-Care and call the Tri-Care Patient Advocate and give them the name. Worth a try right??? sorry I couldn't help more.
