some of you know about my son-in-law lou, being re-deployed to iraq after returning dec 2006. today, i received a call from germany from my daughter that her friend was one of those injured in that huge attack last week. thing is there are so many attacks, i personally don't know which one and for months i do not want to watch the news since i compels me think it is one of my friends that has been injured or a casualty. i have had a few friends killed in action and that is not easy to think and very young, just kids to me.
today, my daughter went to Landstuhl which is 20 mins from her home. she went to see her friend adam who is calvary soldier and only 20 yrs old. his left side of the face was blown off by an IED. she spent time visiting him to bring his spirit up and know it is ok. when my daughter was at the hospital she noticed how many soldiers were seriously injured and how sad and in pain they all were. she is considering being a volunteer to visit these soldiers on a regular basis. the hospital is 20 mins away from her home and it is the main hospital where all the injured soldiers from iraq, afghanistan, etc are sent. she told me many are depressed, badly disfigured and feel lonely with no visitors. my daughter, jessi has the strength to see people that are deformed and disfigured. i told her, if it helps their morale and know they have a friend they can talk to, then do it and god will pay you back for your compassion and having the heart to take your time and let them have a friend they can talk to and understand what they are going through. i am posting a link to the pic of adam, the 20 yr old that i am writing about above. he is from West Monroe, Louisana.

Topic: RE: RE: Getting Approved
Tricare has changed their requirements for approval. They don't require a BMI anymore it is now 100 pounds overweight with comorbidities or 200% of body weight. When I started out the requirements were for the bmi's, but by the time i put in my packet it had changed. I missed out by 6 pounds and now I am in the appeal stage. Since i started the appeal process i have gained the weight that i needed to meet the inital requirements,so hopefully i will get approved. I am telling you this because i don't want you to get blindsided like i did. hope this helps, layla
