Topic: RE: EFMP??
What about calling EFMP and asking them, I am sure they'd know if we need to be enrolled. I have 2 sons that are EFMP so adding me to the list would not be too big a deal

Ok, at least someone else has heard about this. The person I heard this from isnt the most reliable source. So thats why I had to ask. Do you think Tricare would know the answer to this? -Mary

I also heard the same thing but Ive not checked into it yet. I will ask my surgeon when I see him on the 14th and see if he knows anything about it. Donna

Topic: EFMP??
I am hoping that ya'll know what EFMP is. If not, its the Exceptional Family Member Program . My question about this is, do we as WL patients have to sign up for this? I've heard from someone that we have to. If anyone can help me with this, that would be great. I am just courious about this now.. -Mary

Topic: RE: WLS Ed. Class Part 2
My husband deployed in April and will be home in November. I wanted to have the surgery right after he left, but everything was so screwy it didnt work out. BUT, Monday is my big day! I'm actually glad he will not be here. It gives me a chnace to learn to eat without having to cook for someone else. Plus....I get to surprise him with a new look when he comes home. Keep us updated on your progress!

Topic: RE: WLS Educational Class
My surgeon's program has two info classes. The first is mostly about insurance. The program coordinator conducted this one. She let us know what information to get together to give to them for submitting to insurance, like 5 years of medical records, diet history, etc. And she also gave us a list of phych docs they use, and got us set up for oximetry studies and/or sleep studies. The second info meeting was conducted by my surgeon. He went through a PowerPoint presentation on the surgery. The actual surgery with pictures, statistics, expected weight loss, complications, etc. This was suppose to be a 1.5hr meeting but lasted almost 3 hours. He answered everyone's' questions very thoroughly. Congrats on the earlier date! I know I was so excited to finally get to my first info class!! Andi

Topic: RE: Having Surgery and PCSing.....
I don't know for sure, but I want to know the answer myself. I just had surgery on July 6th and we just got orders to PCS to Fort Bragg, reporting NLT 25 Nov. I knew we'd be pcs'ing sometime after hubby gets back from Iraq. But we were thinking some time in march because hubby didn't think he'd get the Nov class (PSYOPS) date. He is suppose to get in country on Nov 7th, be at Fort Riley, Kansas for 5-10 days. So he figured they would give him the next class date in March. But nope. If hubby has to spend the full 10 days at Fort Riley we'll have just over a week to get from Oregon to Fort Bragg, NC. Oh, what fun! I don't think Tricare has anything to do with PCSing. You have to re-enroll at each new duty station yourself, it doesn't follow you. Unless maybe a dependant is enrolled in the EFMP? Are we supposed to be enrolled in EFMP after surgery? Andi
