Tricare and Lap Band Surgery

Heather, I took the first step and got the referral from my PCM. Is there certain information that should be included on the referral? How did you call to get your consult with Dr. Long? The regular Tricare appt line or a different number?

Here at Ft Bliss Tx they will be doing the lap band in about 6 months...the do RNY now. We have 2 surgeons that do it.

MiMi, It's been over three months since you posted this message. Has Fort Bliss started their lapband program and is Fort Bliss considered part of the Tricare Southwest Region?

Hi, when exactly will it be at Ft. Bliss? Can you tell me the name of the doctor who will be performing it? And finally, what are the steps I need to take in order to prepare? I haven't even begun asking for it as I did not realize it was available and I sure don't have the money with my husband only being a specialist. If you could e-mail me, I'd appreciate it.

I'm interested in finding out info on who performs the lap band procedure in the Cincinnati, OH area. I'm wondering if either Wright Patt or Ft. Knox have military hospitals? Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

Hello, I am trying to gather some information about the Lap-band and Tircare covering it. If I am qualified for it does it matter if I live in Virginia Beach or not. Can I still get it done at Walter Reed knowing my residence is in Virginia? Thanks for your help, In Need
