After surgery and you get to your goal, how do you go about losing the extra skin? Are you suppose to exercise after surgery when you feel better to tone? Let me know. Thanks.

Unfortunately there is not much that can be done for the skin. Whether or not you have skin issues depends on many factors. Exercising can build muscle which can fill in the skin a little but for the most part, really the only thing that will help with the sagging skin is reconstructive surgery. While it is sometimes difficult to get approval, according to the policy Tricare does cover a panniculectomy if deemed medically necessary. If you start having skin issues (rashes, infections, etc) do not self treat. Go to your PCP or a dermatologist and start documenting the problems. You will need this documentation for Tricare Approval of plastics. Red

I have been exercising since 3 weeks out. I do tons of stretches and small lifting and I still have some arm skin. For the most part it is gone though. Take a little at a time and keep at it. That is the best thing you can do! Good luck!
