Post-op Back Pain?
I've been having a lot of back pain that I've never had before.. That was the one thing that I complained about after my surgery and it has continued.. I know early post-op that is has to do with positioning during surgery, but 3 months out it still hurts on a daily basis.. Also my left knee hurts a lot too. It's like a throbbing pain that last for like 15-20minutes then stops.. Before I had knee pain after standing for long periods, but now it's like out of no where it will just start hurting.. The knee pain I can deal with cause it doesn't happen all the time, but my back hurts everyday. I'm going to ask Dr. Dolan about it, but I really don't know what can be done.. I thought taking weight off was supposed to help with back & joint pain not make it worse.. Has anyone else had this problem or is it just me?
I wish I had a good answer for you. I don't know what would be causing the back pain. I would definitely talk to your Dr about it.
and no your joint pain does not go away. that's one reason for getting this surgery before you have damage to your joints. My Dr told me that my pain was not going away even with 100 lb weight loss. Hopefully your knees won't keep getting worse at least for a long time. My back and knees always hurt, but they did before. you may need some physical therapy or some back strenthening exercises. Be sure you don't leave the DR's office without having it addressed. Diana
