Hey guys, I have to start Atkins tomorrow. I have to do 2 weeks of Atkins before my surgery. I have done Atkins about 4 times before. However, I am nervous about it this time. I have no idea why. I think because it has to do with the surgery. The question I have is what kinds of foods can I eat for breakfast? I don't like eggs. I have gotten that answer from most people. I got all my other meals down. I am a breakfast eater. Now I just dont' know what to eat. I bought some turkey bacon and some sausage links. Any other ideas?

I didn't have to do the Atkin's diet before surgery; but I have done it before. I can remember reading in my adkins book that you are actually suppose to eat the regular kind of bacon. It is a weird diet...I guess all of it is basically based on fat. YOu are suppose to have butter, not margerine. You can have regular manaise; but since you don't like eggs I really don't know what you would use the manaise for..I use to boil eggs and make stuffed eggs. I would also cook chicken in butter, eat hamburger meat with cheese on top. Really the only thing I can think of is you could put some cheese on the sausage or bacon. I know it doesn't help much ; but for the first phase of Adkins ...you really are pretty much limited to Red meat, butter, eggs, mayonaise. I know I wasn't much help; but just think two weeks of that mess and then your surgery You can do anything for two weeks. ((Hugs)) Jaye Jaye

Sometimes I have steak or other meat for breakfast. You may need to look for more of a dinner type meal. Get inventive. Bacon, pork, ham, sausage are all possibilities. You can have cream also. You just have to use splenda or nutrasweet. In 2 weeks it shouldn't be too bad. How about scrambled eggs with cheese. I eat that a lot. You can also have regular bacon. Good luck. Diana
