I just thought I would share my news. Wow, I am amazed it has been just 8 days after surgery...and I have lost 16 pounds . It is going to take a few months for drastic changes; but my face is so much smaller than before. My double chin....gone. The only complaint I really have so far is that I am so tired. The Dr. said everything looked great, and the tiredness is very normal. I am basically living on less than 300 calories a day and my body has to get used to the changes. Considering all the stapeling and pulling , cutting and reconnecting I am not in any pain. Gastric bypass is really a very amazing surgery. Hugs to you all, Jaye Jaye

congratulations! I share your excitement. I could see it in my face right away also. Yes, you will be tired for a while. Remember it takes 6-8 weeks to recover, even if you feel good you are still in recovery. It took over 2 months for my bruises to go away. I was amazed at how little pain I had also. My toe surgery was much more painful. And this dang broken arm, etc. has been more painful than surgery. You will get over being so tired. In the meantime, get your rest. Your body needs sleep in order to heal. 3 months out and 46 lbs lighter and I feel a lot better. That is slow loss, but OK. And it just keeps coming off, slow and steady. I am up to between 500-600 cal per day now. They say 1200 by 6 months, I don't know how I will be able to do that. I will be happy at 800. This is an amazing surgery. We can be successful for the long term as long as we follow the rules. I have never before had a 3 month sustained loss except with phen-fen. I am so excited with my results, I just want to shout out loud and send everyone I know who is struggling to my Dr. big hugs to you and good going. Diana

Great to hear that things are going well. That is good, the 16 pounds. I think I am a little jealous. I can't wait until I am on the losing team!!! I will be there shortly. Well take care of yourself and make sure you get some rest.
