denied twice

Has anyone, here, ever been denied by tricare and had the decision changed on appeal? I have been denied, twice and have now hired an attorney to represent me in my final appeal. i am sooooooooo frustrated, I meet tricares criteria. I have a BMI of 41.2, have sleep apnea, GERD and low thyroid. I was shocked by both denials. Also, if you had surgery on base, where? We are stationed near Memphis Tennessee. I am starting to feel like the only person Tricare won't cover. I know that is a little dramatic, but again I am sooooo frustrated.

What is their reason for denial? I have dealt with these people for so many years, I have learned that their way of thinking is somewhat off kilter. I am battling with Tricare myself in regards to them not giving accurate information to me or my surgeon's office. They change what information they needed to be submitted for approval. The only way I found out was that after 2 weeks of them have my paperwork in process, I called to inquire what was going on.
