Hi! Newbie here!
Hello Everyone!
My name is Brandi and I'm 29. I've been researching WLS for over a year now and I'm currently taking steps to make it a reality for me. I've been referred by my PCM for gastric bypass, I've got a bmi of almost 45 with no co morbidities yet (except back and knee pain), which doesn't approve me for an off post surgeon, but I qualify to have the procedure on post.
I've made the appointments for the nutrition classes that deal with eating after gastric bypass, I will be attending a manditory support group meeting in a couple weeks (and probably more after that). I know where to go to get my psych consult, but I need to have my doc send a referral in. The lady at General Surgery said to wait until last, because sometimes tricare doesn't accept both parts of the psych eval and you have to cover the costs (which are minimal, but still).
I'm at Fort Hood, and have been for over 5 years. I'm looking forward to learning more, and meeting some people who are going (or have gone )through the same things!
Hope to get to know you!
Brandi
Welcome. Great to have you here. I live at Seymour Johnson AFB, North Carolina. My husband is in the Air Force. I am waiting on my approval from Tricare. That is the part of the process I am in. My doctor submitted my paperwork Monday afternoon. So I am playing the waiting game. I wish you the best. If you ever have any questions, feel free to ask.

Welcome Brandi. I have been out for a while after a bike accident. I was really doing well with my exercize until then. My arm is broken and my femer has a small crack. I had more injusried than that, but I am healing and doing better.
I had a proximal RNY 3 months ago. It has been great. I am a slow loser, but I am losing. It is really starting to show.
My DH is retired after 40 years service as an Army Ranger. I have civilian dr's and my surgeon is great.
this is the best thing I have done for myself in a very long time. I am very glad I had the surgery. I just don't recommend falling while riding a bike.
Sounds like you have thinks rolling along quite well. Diana
