Tricare and Plastic (Reconstructive Surgery)

Hi Everyone - I have a question regarding Tricare and plastic (Reconstructive Surgery). I wanted to know if anyone on this board been approved for reconstructive/plastic surgery after weight loss. I am having the lapband done (not by Tricare - they won't cover it yet, got insurance through my employer) and I think that I will want to have a tummy tuck. Also, my daughter wants to have a breast reduction and I am not sure if the age limt is 18 or 21 for this. I wanted to know what they look for to approve either surgery. My thought is that Tricare Prime will cover it at 100% if I find out the correct things to document prior to submission for a request of the surgery I live in California if this helps with the answers. Try going to mytricare.com You have to register if you are not registered. Once you do that, there is a tab that you can click on to ask a question. It is called AskUs. They are really good about getting backto you. It usually takes about a day or two to get your answer. I hope that helps.
