1 Appointment Away
I am one appointment away from submitting to tricare. I had my pulmonary eval done Monday. It went pretty good. I had a chest x-ray done, lab work (5 viles), a breathing test, and an artery test. The artery test was kind of uncomfortable. Actually, I just don't like needles. They stuck a small needle in my wrist. It had a weird feeling. Then I had to take a machine home and do a sleep test. Things went fine until the machine start acting up at 2 am. The lights kept blinking and then the numbers went out and the machine died. So I took it back to the doctor's office the next morning, which is an hour away and I had to go to work. The nurse told me the batteries had died and the machine did not read anything. I was kind of mad about that because I had to take time off from work to drive the machine back. So I have to do it again. So tonight I am going for round 2 of my sleep test. I told the nurse to make SURE the machine had new batteries. So now I have to take more time off from work to drive the machine back again in the morning. But I guess in the end it will have all been worth it. My next appointment is November 2nd. That is for my cardiac eval. I am hoping for a cancellation so I can have my appointment moved up. For all those who have had their cardiac eval, let me know how it was so I will know what to expect.
Congrats on getting one step closer.
I am sorry for the trouble of the sleep machine. I would have given anything to take a machine home. I had to spend two nights at a sleep clinic. But you do what you got to do. I will pray that there will be an earlier cancellation for your cardiac eval. I didn't have to have one of those. Of coarse when I had the sleep study they had electrodes all over and monitored my heart for the nights I had to be there. I don't know if that was why I didn't have to have it or not. It's like everyone says from Dr. to Dr. sometimes your tests differ so much.
Congrats again

You are getting closer. Urgh!!!! on your messed up test.
The arterial draw is not fun. I have drawn 100's of them. They can be very painful. You did well, lots of people cry with them. I don't know what they will do for cardiac eval. It will most likely be an EKG and maybe a stress test. No pain. I had already had all of that done recently. You are getting there. Diana
