just wondering, but i am hoping i have a legal leg to stand on. after i have this surgery, i will be out of work for 4 weeks because i wont be able to lift anything over 10 lbs. my line of work requires me to assist a 200 lbs man. i told my boss about this today and he is saying that he is going to have to find someone to replace me after surgery. which, i understand. but, i thought there was laws in place for stuff like this? it's a medical reason as to why i cant work...soo....?

They cannot fire you over this. They can hire a temp, but they have to take you back. You have rights. Check your state and federal labor laws through the labor deparements. Don't just roll over for them. Even if you can get a better job later. Diana
