well its normal to be scared and anxious. but look at the reasons you decided to do this. and look at your life if you dont go through the surgery. every person has different reactions to suregry, but you know a lot about the surgery, you know what your life will be like afterwards. you have it planned, so dont start panicking now, since you have waited a long time plus all the engery it took to get this far, you could always postpone the date or even decide not to do it, but i dont think you'll be happy with yourself if you do. just remember these feelings are normal, go and talk to someone that is a support person. feel free to email me or im me. my aim/aol is jennadweeb and email is [email protected]

I haven't had the surgery yet myself; but what Jennifer said is right on the money. I don't think anybody that has had the surgery didn't get scared especially right before the surgery!!! I know that when I am where you are at in the process I will feel extreme anxiety as you are now, and I will be asking for prayer and help on the board!!!
Have faith, and think of your life to come. You are going to have more energy and be able to do all the things that seem impossible now!!
My prayers are with you!!

That is very normal. I have been scared before every surgery. I have gone into the hospital shaking and so cold that they had to really hotpack me to get veins up. Which is a very good thing to ask for if you are cold and your veins look like little strings rather than big veins. It always helps get them up and that helps them get in easier.
take some deep breaths and try to get some sleep. It will be fine. I don't regret having it done one little bit. My Blood pressure is already back to where it was over 20 years ago. Here are some big HUGS to help you through. Diana
