well i got a call from someone who works at willford hall and said i was a prime canidate and they looked over my stuff and offered me to start their program. this will be at a military hospital which is 200 miles away one way. but i am happy that i finally got things started. also idont have to worry about bills, and what tricare decides not to pay and so forht. i go on oct 4. she said they only have 1 a month, so if i couldnt make it i would have to wait till nov 5. so i took it. she said i could get my phys. dr and have them fax the info to them to shorten the wait, and since it can take months to get to see a dr, i am going to start the hunt. however i am not sure what dr, is it a physcologist or phychistrast? aloso she said when i go to the seminar thing i will get an appt for a consult with the dr, and then he will give me a date. the nurse also told me that it could take 3-6 months to get the surgery, however she said that she has never seen it take that long and its more like a month.

Yeah!! Here you go!! The evaluation is with a psychologist. It would be good if you could find a baratric psych, but I'm not exactly sure how to go about doing that. My surgeon's program gave me a list of 5 different doctors they use and I matched their list with Tricare's to see who was a in-network doc and chose the only one that was. I suppose you could just do a search on Tricare for the psych doctor near you and call a couple to see if they do baratric evals. WOO HOO!! October 4th is less than a month away! I know you must be very excited!! Andi

It sounds like you have things moving. Too bad about the drive. If it is on base though, you will be able to stay in the hotel on base. That would help rather than an outside hotel for the night before and if you have to stay around for a day or 2 after. Good going on finding a Psych. That helps to get that done. Congratulations. That is Great!!!!! I recommend getting your sleep study out of the way. (If you can...I don't know if you need to go to see your PCM again or not...Tricare sent me a referral for a sleep study a week after they approved me to see a WLS surgeon. I don't know if this is an appointment that they require you to have at the Dr. you will be going to...but if it is go ahead and get it over with. I found out I have moderate obstructive sleep apnea. I am suppose to be getting a cpap machine to use at home in a few days. Congrats again on beginning your journey!!! Jaye Jaye
